Bluffs Middle School, in Scottsbluff, NE. serves a diverse student population of over 600 students in grades six, seven, and eight. Over 200 of them participate in the many programs offered by the Music Department. The middle school band program is under the direction of Michael A. Koch. He is assisted by Francis J. Ibero. Bluffs Middle School offers a 6th Grade Band, a 7th Grade Band, an 8th Grade Band, a Jazz Band, and a Marching Band. Our music program also offers a choir program and an orchestra at the middle level. Eighth
Grade Bands, under Mr. Koch's direction,
have been
selected to perform for the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association convention in
2000, the Nebraska Music Educators Association Convention in 2002,
received a superior rating and first place trophy at the Music In The Parks
Festival in 2005, and have been invited to be a demonstration group at the 2005
Nebraska Music Educators Convention.
